Role

As an Intermediate Civil Designer/Drafter in our Calgary office, your role will be to work with the management team and the rest of our engineering team to efficiently undertake detailed CAD designs for our project clients in the municipal and land development industries. You will take the lead on all aspects of design drafting in Civil 3D, working with our engineers and licensees to delivery urban development projects in the Calgary region. In addition, you will work with and mentor our growing junior design drafting team, adding valuable experience and insight into construction drawing production. The position is ideally suited for a person with strong experience with City of Calgary CAD standards in both residential and non-residential development projects. There will be opportunity for the right person to participate and benefit from our growing firm’s presence in the Calgary region’s civil engineering market.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma (2 years) in Civil or Municipal Engineering from an accredited technical college

• 7+ years of experience in the civil municipal engineering industry as a design draftsperson responsible for all CAD aspects of our land development files.

• Experience in the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, earthworks, municipal servicing systems, GPS and legal surveying, and storm drainage systems.

• Experience with the City of Calgary’s CAD Standards.

• Must be a registered member of the Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). CET designation is an asset.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.

• A desire to work with and become a leader for our team of design professionals.

• Attention to detail and strong Civil 3D technical skills.

• Candidates who have less experience but who are able demonstrate a high level of knowledge about the civil/municipal engineering field and who have strong references may also apply
